For more than three decades, Fairtrade has helped to get fairer deals for farmers and workers in developing countries. Starting with certified coffee in the ’80s and expanding to various other categories and markets, Fairtrade is a significant driver of eight of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, while contributing to achieving multiple other goals of their own. Fairtrade paves the way for consumers, retailers, and suppliers to contribute in concrete ways to a fairer world.
Fairtrade has a proven way of working, is worldwide the most recognized ethical label, and supports producers on the ground with training and development programs (e.g. on climate change, gender, and child labor). Its farmers and workers are solidly represented in the organization, and the organization plays a crucial role in sustainable development. It does this through driving positive change with an aim to leave no one behind, empower people, and protect the planet – and so build a better, more sustainable future for all.
